Our philosophy
Our business model is simple: you pay us to sync your diary. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads. We keep as little of your data as we can, and use it only to provide the service you asked for.
Without an account
Your diary is kept on your device. We receive none of it.
With an account
When you sign in, we store:
- Your email address, to send you sign-in codes, and news about chow and your subscription.
- Your diary entries and foods, so your devices can sync. They are encrypted in transit. They are not end-to-end encrypted.
- Your subscription status, and the customer number Stripe assigns you.
Payments
Stripe processes your payment. Stripe makes your name, email address and postal address available to us for tax purposes. We do not have your card number.
We send news about chow to account holders and to anyone who signs up on this website. Every message has a link to unsubscribe. Unsubscribing does not affect your account or sign-in codes.
Analytics
We count visits to this website with analytics we host ourselves. They do not set cookies and do not identify you.
Service providers
We use Cloudflare to host the service and its database, Amazon Web Services to send email, and Stripe to take payments. Each handles your data only to provide its service to us. We share your data with no one else. Your data is stored in the United States.
Forum
The forum at forum.chow.fit is a separate website. Anything you post there is public.
Your rights
You can export your whole diary from the app at any time. To delete your account and everything synced to it, email us.
Retention
We keep your account data until you ask us to delete it. Cancelling a subscription does not delete anything.
Children
Chow is not intended for children under 13.
Security
We use standard security protocols to protect your information.
Jurisdiction
EnduraByte LLC is subject to the laws of the State of Tennessee and the United States. We comply with lawful governmental requests for data, such as warrants.
Changes
This policy may be updated periodically. The current version will always be available on this page.
